A table was booked for last bank holiday weekend, but unfortunately that's as far as we would get. We arrived to be told the Internet was down so they would not be serving meals. Nobody could pay by card, understandably with no Internet. But surely they could have taken the food orders down with good old pen and paper and if we could pay by cash, what was the problem Instead presumably the kitchen staff were sat swindling their thumbs.

Probably the best pub in all of northamptonshire. The atmosphere is always incredible thanks to the amazing staff - such as Rob - who do a faultless job of looking after his patrons. The food is fantastic, in summer there is an incredible amount of outdoor seating, the drinks and culture of the pub is exactly what you want from an English pub. Always, it will be the staf that keep you coming back, amazing team led by Rob, they make you feel special and welcomed. I would recommned to everyone to try here.

Took family out for Sunday dinner, and wen it come to the table it looked like it had been warmed up from the day before the roast beef on the menu said served ink it was black and dry as a bone, the lamb shanks were exactly the same bone dry and again like the beef had definatly been warmed up not the sort of food I wud have expected in a green king establishment, even the toilet door didn't have a lock on it not the sort of place I wud recommend or ever visit again I'm sorry about this but if that's the sort of chap u dish up u deserve it

Had a family meal here. The food took about one hour to come. It came in dribs and drabs so we were not eating together. Most of it wasn't eaten. The lamb shank was burnt and swimming in a very oily gravy. The eggs on the mixed grill were barely cooked, raw with a white outside. I am not sure if the prawns on the fish plate with the cooked salmon were supposed to be hot or if they had just been put on a hot plate and warmed through. Bit like having a hot prawn cocktail, clearly hadnt been cooked in anything, just defrosted and put on hot food, not nice. The vegetarian burger was enjoyed, kids pizza was doughy and undercooked. Out of nine of us, only two people found the food acceptable. No one asked us why so much food wad left uneaten. We ordered deserts, should have known better. One of the deserts was incorrect, waitress got a wee bit stroppy when this was pointed out to her. The food service was incredibly slow, no one came and said that there was a delay, service awful and surly, the cook needs to go on a training course. The toilets are dated and not the cleanest, must have a round mop as they missed all of the corners on the floor. It's not the most expensive but obviously if you wait an hour for your meal, people are going to buy more drinks and it really hikes the bill. Came here about two years ago and it was great. Really gone downhill. What a waste of time and money, came for a nice family meal, ended up a couple of hundred pounds down and going home and cooking something to eat. I won't be going again. Waste of money, spoilt our day. You should not have to talk about food unless it is terrific when you are out together. Not how awful it is and if it's safe to eat hot, recently defrosted prawns and raw eggs.
