It proved almost impossible to renew when I recalled that I had visited my GP recently with an undiagnosed spot. It was not possible to extend my annual European cover to include Spain without including Turkey and Egypt (which I had no intention of visiting) at substantial additional cost

The whole process of dealing with Avanti is terrible. Impossible to get through on the phone. The same message of "more busy than usual" is aways there. I had a travel claim but turns out they didn't renew my policy as they should have via DD, whihc I had opted in for. Nor given me any heads up that I was uninsured or their DD didn't work. Nothing. On the Avanti profile my policies were gone but then back again. It just feel unsecured and untrustworthy. Contacting them is a nightmare. The claims handler are outsourced and impossible to speak to someone from the actual company. Its when things goes wrong you need to get in contact with your insurance and its the claims handling that matters. I can only recommend you look for a better option than this one.
