Ocean Basket at Turnbulls

So while out walking last week I spotted that turnbulls had been taken over, so thought I would give it a try. Turned up at 6:40 on a Friday, was four people waiting, stood a few minutes outside while they waited on some fish to cook, went in and made my order. 5.50 for a fish supper was good value. You can pay by card!!! Which is something that was always missing when it was owned by Jackie. About thirty seconds later I was walking out with freshly cooked food. Served wrapped in paper as it should be, never a fan of cardboard boxes. Portion size was reasonable, chips were perfect, cooked really well. Fish batter was light and tasty, not too thick, some places you go all you get is batter. Considering it had just been doing lengths of the chip pan five minutes beforehand it wasnt too greasy. Over all I am impressed with this chippy. Food is nice, staff friendly, good value, what more do you want. Will be back.

Great fish n chips. Going to try the parmo at some stage. Reubin is so chatty and friendly as are his co workers.

First started coming here in 1983. It was the best then, the new owner seems to have his head screwed on with prices and taste.
