I got this name from the Mayflower website as a place to purchase authentic Mayflower 1620's costumes. Sally was immediately responsive to my email inquiry, and said she would have to research authentic Mayflower attire. I proceeded with my order of a complete women's outfit of bodice, shift, cap, skirt and cloak. The items were made and arrived in a timely manner. Shipping to the US was an additional $100, which would have been fine if the items had fit.. Unfortunately the shift/ chemise was way too large, at least 2 sizes too big, the custom made bodice way too small (although it was custom made from measurements I sent), the cap and the skirt of nice quality fabric, well made and a good fit. The bodice had about 30 metal hook fasteners down the front that were almost impossible to open and close and, thus, get the garment on and off, even if it had not been way too tight.. I couldn't get most of them to hook and unhook. They needed to be pried open to work at all. The plastic wrap packaging of my outfit was widely ripped open when it arrived, with much of the off the rack heavy wool cloak exposed. It had clearly gotten wet in transit as it reeked badly of a wet moldy stench that immediately permeated the entire room. It is amazing that the cloak fabric wasn't damaged, but the odor was so bad I couldn't keep it in the house. Needless to say I was very disappointed in this much anticipated special gift to myself. I returned and received credit back for the chemise/ shift and the bodice with my having, of course, to pay UK tariff as well as International from US postage. I only kept the cloak because I didn't want to pay the same in postage to return it as the item cost in the first place. The credit for returning would have been the same as the postage to return it, but, amazingly, after over a month in the garage, the cloak odor has gone away! When I returned the bodice I included a photo of a 1620 bodice with button front closure from the Mayflower website asking Sally if she would please give me the price differential to make this new style for me in a different color than the original, as that bodice and skirt were identical color and fabric, and, in every authentic Mayflower costume photo I have seen, the skirt and bodice were different colors, not matching in color. When I followed up on this, Sally wrote back a curt response that she had received my returned items, given me credit for them and that, as the bodice I wanted was not an "off the rack" item and would require a new pattern, she, thus, would not be able to make it. Based on my experience I cannot recommend using this site for any Mayflower colonial costume or any other unless it is something you can buy off the rack. In addition to sending my own measurements I had told her that a standard European size 40 off the rack fit me exactly. Only the skirt came close. The cloak was a one size fits all. By far, the worst part of my experience with Sally was being made to feel that not being "satisfied" with poor fitting clothing items I could not wear and the poor condition/ horrific odor of the cloak resulting from damaged packaging was, somehow, all MY fault.
