I have been going to this salon for more than 4 years, Infact if you scroll to my earlier review (dated 3 years ago) under Bess youll see I gave it 5 stars. However, I recently started to get a different service - powder on my nails instead of just shellac and I would say the quality of powder application technique by comparison is highly varied depending on the technician. When the young girl (the only young girl who works there) does my nails, I repeatedly have problems with the powder on the base of the nail not adhering properly - meaning water can more easily get under the powder and it starts lifting from the bottom. This means that my hair strands would catch on the base and the integrity of the whole nail would be compromised causing the nail to easily bend and break due to being top heavy. More recently, Ive had a particularly painful break in the middle of one nail as a result of this. This powder lifting issue has happened 3 times now - and politely I had chosen not to call out that the common denominator here was this particular technicians powder application skill. For complete transparency and with fairness in mind, I should also say that this technician (in contrast) happens to be the best at intricate and complex nail design - which I have been a fan of recently and Im always satisfied with her design skill and so I often request her - but it is absolutely not worth it for the damage to my nails. I have tried to build up the courage a few times to ask if someone else could do my powder whilst she could do my design but I didnt want to create a fuss or hurt her feelings. Despite this, the final straw came today when I went in to get a repair (which is typically complimentary when its less than a certain amount of time and not caused by customer negligence) and after agreeing in advance it was a repair she then requested I pay as the soak off time took longer. At my polite (and non-confrontational response) she proceeded to be incredibly defensive, very rude and theatrical ask everyone here if that is fair nothing is worth that level of drama and unpleasantness so I paid and left. I wont be going back. Services: French manicures, Dip powder, Nail designs
