I would never buy a house through Sauls again. The process of buying the house was terrible & a further 8 years down the line still finding problems and reoccurring leaks. If you were lucky enough to buy a house through them, have a look under the bath and kick boards in the kitchen if you havent already done so, you may be in for a few surprises from what the builders have left you. The list goes on, but Ill keep the review short & sweet. Dont bother

Today I am having to retracted my offer to purchase one of the new build property due to being unassured when the property will be completed by, when I reserved the property back in January 2022, I was told it was 12 months until it would be completed. However, we were also told to reserve it we needed to prove we had sold our current home and we could afford a mortgage for the property. We obviously interested in the home we agreed and placed our house on the market, it was snapped up straight away and the property was sold, and we went through mortgages to show we could afford the property. We then paid 500 to secure the property of our dreams. Months went by and we were told by the buyer we had to complete by a certain day which we did and planned to believe we would be in our new home by Jan 2023. We are now in January and still dont have a completion date only that it could be around summer timer (June/July). Not only is this the reason why but we secured a Mortgage back in June 2022 to last us until the first of April 2023 giving us 3 months leeway in case of any delays. We let Saul homes no this and was told numerous times we could get this completed before the end of March if we get our solicitors to exchange, however there is a catch as Saul Homes have not bothered to register the land they are on, the solicitors did not want to proceed to exchange level (This can take 18 months to register). So, Saul Homes is now trying to get customers to break the advice of solicitors so they can secure their homes which is unethical and only said we will prioritise the house if you do this. Due to the interest rate increase as our mortgage offer would expire if they did not help us and complete by April, this would cost our mortgage monthly costs to rise by 800.00 per month on top of the original mortgage amount. But Saul homes did not care about their customers and stated there is nothing they could do (which was untrue, they just did not care). Due to not knowing when we will be in, we have decided we cannot afford to be homeless any longer and need to find alternative arrangements. There for we will be resending our offer to purchase, this has now costed us 400 pound in searches fee to our solicitors and solicitor cost that I am sure SAUL homes will not refund us due to them not caring about their customers positions or leading them on and miss selling them. They were also quite hesitant to try and take money off us straight away for extras in the property and demanding payment by a certain day which was unachievable as the money was in bonds and takes 3 working days to be retrieved. They even threaten us with not adding anything into the property and we would miss out if it was not paid by a certain day. To prove SAUL homes only care about them selfs they are sitting on multiple property that should have been handed over to affordable housing just in case they can stop the government taking them and selling them on in the future to make more money, just despicable. Overall my interactions have been 0.5 stars out of 5 and would not recommend this developer to anyone, stay away. Service: Home building
