As a garden centre - 5 stars As a pond and coldwater fish centre - 5 stars As a tropical fish centre - 4 stars As a cafe/tea room - 3 stars The garden centre is very diverse and well stocked. The chap on duty is very friendly and likeable and wears a smile. The cafe/tea room has wonderful staff but the menu is very limited. I found the sausage/egg buns to be very oily where the oil also had a distinct and tainted flavour that continued to repeat on me well into the evening, so unfortunately that'll be a hard pass from me in future and spoiled the bun. Individual cup cakes seemed a tad pricey. The pond and coldwater fish centre is stocked and displayed beautifully with credit due for how easily the various pond fish can be viewed. The tropical fish centre is very well stocked but it lost a star from having very limited choice on one of the most popular, colourful and easy-to-care for tropical fish: the guppy. One tank had limited numbers and they all looked comatose and poor grade and the other guppy/endler tank again had quite a few you could see wouldn't make it through the week - clamped fins and hovering. Everything else seemed in good health. They're missing a trick not having lots of various colourful guppies/endler strains because a lot of families pass through the door and every aquarist knows these are uncomplicated vibrant best sellers. All-in-all it's very much worth a visit where you can stop and have refreshments mid-visit, family friendly, and has very polite and helpful staff.
