Very limited light in both factories, dirty working environment and air polluted with weld smoke, poor extraction units. Production planning and operations not efficiently ran throughout hierarchy. Improvements are an understatement in all aspects.

Where to start....... Overall the guys in the factory are great to work with/around... some have real skills others don't even try, the amount of basic issue's is beyond a joke. Equipment is lacking at a basic level, or you'll encounter serous delays. Lighting is incredibly poor especially factory 2 it's worse then a mine, yes Ive had to work with torch light very often. Ventilation is pretty poor unless the main roller doors & fire exits are left open. Safety standards, just no. Safety guards damaged or removed, most machines/presses lack basic maintenance. Fork lifts being operated directly outside welding bays.. no real safety barrier. Training is nil to none existent, don't expect any career changing event to take place here unless you win the lotto. The entire site is filled with scrap metal, literally old unused machine parts, jigs, vehicle parts old equipment etc etc Car parking is incredibly limited Production standards not good, theirs an unusual idea/goal of shipping products out no matter what... hence alot of rejects/returns. No matter what in-process measures are implemented to prevent/reduce the above nothing is enforced. giving staff medical/health checks especially eye tests, several ppl I've met/spoken to are clear to have poor eye sight. Management is beyond a joke, lacking real organisation & accountability, real inplace working processes etc organised customer orders & real processing time scales to complete orders safely etc these are all lacking.. Then the work space, all the fab work is crammed into 2main factories mirror images of each other. Theirs a large staff turnover I can't describe why as its beyond a joke... however I will say the vast majority of the guys & gals I've worked alongside had been great, it's a pitty the company isn't wanting to improve making it somewhere to be proud of working at. Is it hardwork, not really some technical welding fabrications, alot of tig/mig & spot-weld fab work, wet/powder painting.. The company seems to operate with blinkers fitted, they don't seem to acknowledge issue's/faults, nor listen to staffing concerns. They'd rather point the finger at staff, of whom an awful lot do work really hard but as a return see nothing but a low wage, a wage that's boosted by a clocking in bonus Late you loose it, time off/national/booked holidays loose it, appointment during shift loose it, even if you work the time back you've no guarantee you'll maintain the bonus. here's an idea pay the staff a better wage & address the issue's however that's unlikely as key figures would need to go/changes their way, some of these figure heads don't seem to have the basic skills to maintain the position let alone govern any significant change for the better. Cutting corners occurs to often. A moto that I was made aware of:- Permoid squared "Make it 4 times to get a good sample" That falls down to the shear lack of control/management/guidelines/available skills/ unwillingness to spend time in training/lack of equipment-utilities. Levels or returns/rejects is beyond a joke, with very little chance of any change as no real control is inplace, scrap material due poor machining/machine processes is excessively high.. with all of these occurring profit is hit hard due to the added costs incurred. Any other company I've worked with/for have all had inplace preventative measures & listened to staff to improve where it's needed, with permoid you can shout it out, write it down, email, make presentations etc & nothing changes. So did I enjoy the:- Work - yes Workload - could've done with more Training - overall it was incredibly lacking Equipment - old/poorly maintained / lacking Environment - terrible, very dark & dirty F2 poor ventilation. Wage - lacking/bad unlikely to change Management - poor/lacking Colleague - overall a good selection of ppl, let down by the company. Health & safety - don't swear like that Any perks/benefits - not really any Staff turn-over - high
