We bought a used motorhome from this company, the whole experience was really stressful, the motorhome had a lot of faults and trying to get them fixed was like wading through treacle, the warranty wasn't worth the paper it was written on as the staff made out problems were our fault, we used a third party repairer and got written proof that the fault was not ours. Buyer beware, this is not a good company to deal with.

Perfect for small items needed when caravanning, more sales of motorhomes now though, still selling caravans but don't seem as many

I am very disgusted by the way I have been treated by PRESTON CARAVANS over the purchase of a WEINSBERG campervan from their hire fleet. It is only my second purchase of a vehicle of this type so blame my own lack of experience in part and feel that I have been taken for a fool which does not feel good at all. I was attracted initially by online advertising of a 3 year old 130hp (higher powered), Fiat Ducato based Weinsberg Carabus 600K which seem to exactly fit my requirements. After 3 visits to Preston from my home in Nottingham I drove away in the vehicle and traded in my beloved Ford Transit which by then had 90,000 on the clock. It was only after getting the V5 back from DVLC and checking all the paperwork carefully that I realised the vehicle sold to me by Preston Caravans wasnt 130hp at all but the lower powered 120hp model which according to my local Fiat dealers stopped being manufactured as a base model in 2016. I immediately contacted Preston Caravans then less than two weeks after the purchase and after initially ignoring me, did fully admit that a mistake had been made in advertising the vehicle incorrectly which they claimed to not be deliberate and to have no financial consequences. In the circumstances, they had little choice but to offer me a full refund although my previous vehicle could no longer be returned and they have not been prepared to countenance any compensation for my consequential losses which as anyone would appreciate would be considerable. I am now left with the unenviable choice of taking back the vehicle to Preston Caravans for a refund that does not include my consequential costs and not even leaving me a vehicle to drive away in OR to retain a vehicle that has been sold to me on misrepresented information which will be less powerful and with lower fuel economy than expected throughout its life for which Preston Caravans have offered to compensation me precisely nothing. Yes, we made a big mistake but no, we are not prepared to contribute anything towards the consequential costs of putting it right. They strike me as one of those dinosaur organisations who believe the customer is there to serve them rather than the other way around. Incidentally we also bought an uber expensive LPG gas bottle from them when we went to collect the vehicle which both their sales and service staff assured us was compatible with the fittings in the campervan. Not only was this proved to be complete nonsense but it has so far proved impossible to get the correct fittings to make this work so we are still using a single ring gas fitting from GO Outdoors for cooking. Seriously not impressed. Hopefully others will not be so gullible as me and be very very careful when buying from Preston Caravans otherwise like me you could end up out of pocket.
