Terrible Staff, awful customer service!

Ordered a pair of Vans as a gift, they came with stains on the toes and the shoe itself wasn't stuffed so had lost its shape. As it was a gift, I immediately ordered a new pair elsewhere and when it came I was able to compare and the colour difference was shocking (see photo). These shoes were 100% used as a floor model pair and I was not informed before buying them - really not happy as it was a complete waste of time in ordering and returning them.

I came into this store just to have a look while on holiday. I picked up a Dickies over shirt I wanted to purchase, but some of the stitching was coming out down the side and on the button holes. I understand this isnt Ann Cottages fault but neither is it mine. I was served by Kelly the manager of the shop. She wasnt friendly at all she started to unpick the threads and pull them out. Now this shirt was 85. I want it to be perfect she said she could order me one and I pick it up but Im not doing the chasing as the consumer. She was so unhelpful, she advised she couldnt give a discount on the faulty item as she would be questioned why. The service was awful from start to finish I left the shop and called the number from the website and spoke with Daisy who again was unhelpful but friendly. She did however place me on hold while I was still talking and without prior knowledge transferred me through to the area manager April. It gets better her attitude was worse than Kellys. She was straight away stand-offish and rude. She told me customers never get passed through to her and she was seeing the matter as closed. Everyone was rude. I left and purchased the shirt from Dickies it self for 60 so all in all the morale of the story is go to source cut out the middle man (Anns cottage) as it will save you money and the hassle of being shouted at by 2 Karens who run shops they are not qualified to run. But thank you April,Daisy and Kelly for saving me 25 and in this climate you should look after your customers.

Good selection of clothes, pricey but you pay for the name, and the sale clothes are always a good deal. Shop is nice and clean and well presented. Staff are a different story, no one looks as if they want to be there and no hello or thank you when entering or leaving the shop, everyone looks miserable and dont even bother asking for help if you have a payment issue or need to return something. One staff member with red hair was lovely, rest of them need a good nights sleep and a coffee, what a shame
