I booked in for a meal after browsing restaurants in the area while visiting Newquay - had to bare in mind my partner is not a big fan of seafood or fishy smells! Upon checking out the menu, reviews, and photos, Cove 24 was ultimately the best choice. Certainly not disappointed! The menu was excellent and well put together. The food itself was divine - some of the nicest cod Ive ever eaten, and my partner was very chuffed with his paella. Portion sizes were very generous! Not one complaint to be made! I have to add a special note at the end, acknowledging the incredible service we received. Ciara (Kiara?) served our table, and just had the most infectious energy about her. She was so bubbly, friendly, and helpful. Id eat here again even if the food was poor just to receive the same level of service!! She is a real credit to the Cove team! A promotion is certainly in order. Thank you Ciara/Kiara!

We ate at the Cove on Saturday night and enjoyed three courses of exceptional food. If you're going to book a table then you should expect locally sourced fresh seafood, prime cuts of meat, tasty desserts and fantastic cocktails. Chef Tom Mackins is back in Newquay with a bang!

Edit: Following our experience the next morning we received a phone call with apologies, to explain their situation and was offered a complimentary voucher to return. This was hugely appreciated as we were their for a 40th birthday. This gesture totally changed our opinion of the restaurant and look forward to returning. Thank you .. Poor service from the moment we walked in. Our table (booked for 8:45pm) wasnt ready. It took 20 minutes to order drinks and eventually when getting the menus they took our order. 90 minutes later we had still not received our food. Our food went to another table and only then did the staff seem to be aware. We ended up leaving as it kind of killed the mood! Shame as it was a lovely restaurant but wouldnt go back. Front of house were not in control at all and they were very short staffed.
