Would highly recommend dinner in Bush Pepper. The food was fantastic. We had the moules mariniere and linguine fruits de mer - they were both super fresh and the linguine had the most generous portion of seafood out of any linguine fruits de mer I've ever had. The restaurant was quite busy and they were short staffed, so we had a bit of a wait, but the staff were so lovely and honest with us that it made no difference to our experience.

Let me begin by saying to ignore the two silly reviews I spotted before we visited. Seems they're from the same couple - some people just love to complain for the sake of it, and from our experience, those reviews carried no reflection on this fabulous restaurant! I am so we tried it as our first restaurant experience since moving to the area. We had an absolutely lovely dinner last Wednesday on our 10 year anniversary. We had no idea what to expect, and this place deserves 5 stars! We started off with bread and olives. It wasn't your average bread and olives! It was freshly made bread, the most lush, fat, chunky, warm, crusty, freshly baked bread I have ever tasted! The chef had made some kind of an aioli which was really light and like nothing I've tried before. We had to order more with the main! The bread came with olive oil, balsamic and this lush powdered stuff to dip it in. We are still fantasizing about it! For mains, I had the chicken supreme which deserves a better name than this! You think Chicken supreme as something you'd find in an average pub, but this was the most tender chicken I've ever eaten, with charred pak-choi and a really tasty jus, with a lush potato cake puttanesca. I would never have thought of putting Pak Choi with these flavours, but it worked amazingly! I loved trying interesting, new combinations. Change the name to ' Chicken Superior! ' The portions were generous too. Ben had the steak, and there is no doubt the meat was the most tender we'd ever tried. You can tell all the produce is really fresh and it makes such a difference. (They were cooked perfectly too.) The caramelised banana shallots were lovely. (I stole some.) We shared a bottle of champers because it was a special occasion. They'd greeted us with a cute little sign saying happy anniversary, and they treated us to some home-made baileys at the end which was a lovely finish. Service was impeccable throughout, even though I still didn't leave with the secret special aioli recipe! If you want a real treat of a night out, for great value for money, make sure you book! Having recently moved, we will certainly be back again. I hear they'll be having some lovely live music soon too! ;-) See you all very soon, thanks for a perfect evening! Jo xxx
