We had just two nights at the lodge but feel so relaxed after it. The wooden chalet is really cosy and thoughtfully set up for families with everything needed and more. The beds are incredibly comfortable, the place really clean and the garden and farm a real bonus. Across the road the public playground is well equipped and kept both kids entertained, plus there is loads to do in the area; puzzlewoods is definitely worth an explore and the railway (even though we missed the last train) seemed perfectly set up. We all had a brilliant time and would wholeheartedly recommend.

I stayed in Hawthorn Cottage. It looked promising from outside, but the inside was so dire that we only stayed one night out three (and that was only out of necessity) and went home. It was so old, dirty, smelly and extremely neglected that on arrival I burst into tears. The bed, shower and kitchen were all dire, and the sofa was so grubby that I couldn't bring myself to sit on it. Hopefully it's had some money spent on it since my stay. Ask for internal photos before you book...
