Helen Maybanks Photography

Helen was recommended to us after our initial wedding photographers suddenly became unable to make our wedding. We could not have asked for a better, friendlier, more professional photographer. She was in constant contact with us throughout the planning stage, more than happy to talk over Zoom to discuss details, and was very flexible when plans kept changing due to the pandemic. On the day she was friendly but unobtrusive, taking beautiful photos which captured the essence of the day. We were more than happy to go with her suggestions, but she made sure to get photos of family groups that we wanted as well. I would have no hesitation in recommending her as a first choice, first rate photographer to anyone.

I cant recommend her enough she was brilliant from start to finish. Very calm and quietly efficient in all dealings. She has a remarkably inconspicuous presence but was also able to be bossy when needed. She was also just a really nice person who it was a pleasure to have with us on what was a very personal and special day for us. The photos were spectacular, as you can see on her website.

We used Helen for both of our two weddings (yes, we had two!) in autumn 2013 - we couldn't be happier with either the service or the photographs! Helen is absolutely wonderful to work with, and ridiculously talented. She radiates calmness and capability, and took whatever the wedding days threw at her completely in her stride. She's also really lovely, and it was a pleasure to spend time with her, both in meetings and on the days themselves. She always answered any questions we had promptly and made some very helpful suggestions, too. Our photographs are more beautiful than we could have imagined, and we got to see them really quickly after both events, which was brilliant as we could hardly wait to see them! We honestly can't recommend her highly enough.

Having met Helen through work and experiencing her incredible talent for photography first hand, I knew that there was only one choice when choosing a wedding photographer. In fact it was the first thing I did as soon as my husband and I got engaged as I couldn't bear the thought that she might not be available! We had such a lovely experience, from our very first meeting right through until the day itself - Helen is such a considerate and intelligent photographer that we didn't have to worry about anything. Helen is very subtle and unobtrusive in her style when taking reportage shots, so much so that I didn't notice her once during the ceremony, but she is also more than capable of commanding a drunken rabble of family members into some semblence of order and also produced some wonderful formals. We are delighted with the photos from the day, and really struggled to make our selection as there are just so many fantastic shots! We really couldn't recommend Helen enough.
