I saw some negative reviews so thought I'd add my bit. I'm not local, was just passing through Newcastle yesterday. I liked this place a lot. Lovely old building, of course. Very helpful staff member showed me where to go and gave me relevant information - including the fact that the pool is 25 yards not 25 metres. Like other old pools I've used, it's well designed (e.g. if you're swimming on your back you can tell when you're approaching the side, which you can't always with modern gimmicky pools). Very quiet: there were between 5 and 10 people there, and for most of the time I had the fast lane to myself (and I'm not fast!). This was 12:30 on a Saturday. I didn't use the sauna or any other facilities. But if you want a quiet uncrowded swim, with no children around, in elegant surroundings, I'd say it's ideal.

The best gym/pool facility on offer in Newcastle....Suitable for every fitness need/level and especially for functional/bodyweight stuff which other gyms do not really match up to..
