I took my elderly mother for a Covid booster at Douglas Pharmacy today. The approach to the consulting room is via a rather dirty side entrance on a back lane. Nobody said hello or goodbye, and the abrupt instruction to roll her sleeve up, whilst the operator was waving a needle around, was very intimidating. No antiseptic wipe was used to clean the site first. It was over and finished in seconds, but a cleaner environment, and a cheery smile and greeting would have made all the difference.

I took my elderly father for a COVID booster. Being a GP myself, I found the experience very patient centred, friendly and efficient. The lady pharmacist herself went above and beyond in caring for us and provided accurate information. The wait was not long at all - the queue moved swiftly and the process was enjoyable. True credit to the team here, would most definitely recommend Douglas Pharmacy for all their services!

Just picked a prescription and was served by a very helpful young man who was let down by the awful energy created by his colleagues. When I first went in one assistant was slagging off a customer who had changed their mind about something while a colleague agreed that they were"just abusing the system". The first woman then stomped through to the office where I could here her angry tones continuing. Then the boss lady started speaking sternly to another colleague - it's rarely helpful to shame your staff in front of your clients. You would all do well to remember the dispensing area is visible through the perspex screen and not sound proofed. If your standard response about "speaking to that member of staff" is heading my way, I suggest you speak to everyone except the young man and maybe have a word in the mirror too.
