Don't understand what happened to this place! We love going to Karak Chai as a treat and food/service has always been nice. We went yesterday and was really really disappointed with our experience. Our food took ages to come to the table (that could be forgiven if the food was of good quality) but we had half cooked,oily puris Even the channa masala didn't taste as good as usual, the recipe seems to have changed. Don't know if this was a one off as we saw new staff in the kitchen or if this is the new normal for this cafe. Hoping the owner sees this and takes the necessary steps to take this cafe back to its former glory days!

Is it possible to give minus stars? I would like to draw the attention of everyone about the horrible experience that i had. This was the first restaurant that i visited in New castle. I visited the restaurant on 23/04/2023 at 12:15 and we settled in and saw the menu by ourselves (kind of explains self service which is okay). We ordered our food at 12:21 as my friend went upto the till and placed the order. We wanted Nihari pai for three of us. They lady at the counter left the counter as we mentioned the dish without any notice and asked the one in kitchen about the dish and they were discussing how they can maximize the left over and they decided to give it as two servings. She came back and told us that only two were left and there's no naan. So we ordered two anyway and i had to order omelette wrap and chicken tikka wrap. Honestly,the very first experience in Newcastle - I had to wait over an hour and whilst waiting I did asked the lady and she informed us that our order is next twice. They were finishing up the other orders from deliveroo and justeat first. We were the only table left at this point . We even had to change the table as they table next to us was smelling bad and they didn't clean the table for like an hour .I have attached some photos of how unhygienic it was and how the plates were left on the table as they lady was talking. She was pretty rude to as well. Our food arrived at 13:45 . Seriously,after an hour and we were hungry for the most un-inspiring food ,bad staff and unhygienic place. I have attached the pics of the dishes that i have ordered. As the nihari pai was left over one , they made the one serving into two servings which is clearly visible as it was half only . She asked for the replacement of Naans and we ordered Roti and paratta for each . Clearly there is no difference between paratta and roti except for oil. The omlette wrap was disgusting and i left as i tasted it because of the stale tastle . Chicken tikka wrap was good honestly. Worst experience of my life. Not recommended at all.
