We chose Alan and his firm because of the reputation that stands before them, as well as the wonderful and most helpful email exchange through the initiation process with Jo, who advised beyond expectations throughout the process, even providing a template report of what we could expect to receive; It was a really quick and smooth 5* process, with Abode organising everything and keeping us informed along the way. We opted for the level 3 Building Survey, knowing the house we are purchasing has had extensions and works done recently. Unfortunately for us there were many issues with our house. Alan was able to accommodate our busy work schedules in order to provide us with a lengthy call, prior to issuing the report, in which he explained all details, as well as photos to aid, in a professional, patient and thorough manner. He not only alerted us to the key problems, but provided advice as to how to proceed (both having no background in this space) while also assuring us of size of problems, i.e. that all items are fixable, the timeframes of potential fixes and an idea of cost. Following this we received a thorough report which was full of detail, but again, easy to understand. Following this, we were able to seek advice from Alan, as we received information back form the seller such as building regulation certificates and structural engineer plans, in response to the survey advice for him to confirm if they were up to standard/ cover the issues raised. This was not predominantly part of the service we instructed of Alan and the team, but he went above and beyond in helping us which we hugely appreciated. Overall, it was lovely that Alan showed a real interest and enthusiasm in our house, and at times has been someone to look to for reassurance in this process. He has been of significant help to us and we are very grateful. Our house purchase continues and we look forward to carry on this relationship. Truly a 5* service, and would absolutely recommend or use again in the future.

Thankfully, I have used Abode Chartered Surveyors services several times and cannot stress enough how invaluable Alan Gardiners in-depth property reports are in delivering unsurpassed value and property condition knowledge. The detailed information Alan provides serves to powerfully strengthen one's position at the negotiating table as well as providing the necessary repair responsibility insight and the knowledge whether or not to even move forward with a given purchase opportunity. Alan's expertise completely removes "caveat emptor" from the equation and provides a clear pathway of repair requirements and peace of mind from not facing literally tens of thousands of pounds in unknown repairs.
