Decided to have breakfast in the cafe after shopping at the Cowgate site. Scrambled egg on toast x2 - but the quality of food has really deteriorated since our last visit before first lockdown.. Scrambled eggs were so overcooked, doorstop toast under cooked, and by the time taken to butter said toast, egg was stone cold. It's unfortunate - the staff there seem to have lost interest in making the place a friendly cafe. I suppose for meeting friends over a cuppa is about all I would suggest to people..however, don't choose the tea...it's horrible. ..plump for a machine coffee. At one time, I really enjoyed sitting down to a breakfast there, but I'm afraid that was our last. Pity....
