It's a nice quiet place, they have the most delicious Victoria cake, but the prices may not be suitable for everyone, and the cafe is a bit far away

Mixed feelings- I understand costs are rising for all hospitality businesses, but 9.50 for a small bacon stottie with 3 small pieces of streaky bacon and a fried egg is an eye watering price, and in all honesty felt like an absolute rip off. 3.90 for a latte which wasn't even a full cup and tasted a bit burnt- and it wouldn't normally bother me but when you're paying almost 4 for a coffee it would be nice to see some attempt at latte art? Can't fault the taste of the sandwich but there are far better value for money independents to be found in Newcastle- Laneway, The Canny Goat, Sorcerer Coffee and Pink Lane all offering similair quality at much more reasonable prices. Friendly staff and cafe is a nice setting.

The cafe was busy but the staff were efficient and polite. I ordered the porridge which was delicious. The coffee was recommended by the server and it was divine. Cannot fault the place. Perfect civilised pre footie venue.
