Hammonds Fitted Bedroom Furniture

Having visited Hammond's in Fenwick's Newcastle, we were introduced to your new range of wardrobes etc. by Anne, who was very helpful and informative. We will possibly move in the near future, and having your wardrobes in our present home, we were very impressed and Hammond's would be our first choice in the future.

Ive been left really disappointed by Hammonds see the pictures below, my fit is full of rough cuts, damaged panels and gaps. Not what youd expect for 8000. Ive seen a friends wardrobe and its near perfection, its really good. Mine isnt. I showed her the picture and she apologised for recommending Hammonds. Theres 4mm gap on one side of the unit and no gap on the other, the drawers are wonky and badly aligned, one of the drawers is missing altogether even the nail covers are wonky. And Ive had damage to my property walls. Panels were scratched and I feel had to fight to get them replaced. Customer service was shambolic throughout, once youve purchased youre no longer dealing with the Newcastle branch (Ive got to say the woman was extremely helpful in fenwicks I think she was called Ann, and this review isnt as much about the store). I had a dedicated customer service agent who didnt ring before the fit, I contacted on day 1 of the fit to report concerns and they only contacted me on the 4th and final day after I complained directly to the CEO because there was no customer service and fit is shoddy! Head office left me waiting and waiting on phone calls. Only since emailing the CEO Ive felt theres been any significant plan to resolve things, head office just say theyre investigating and the investigator is on the phone but will ring you back they never do. Im still awaiting on some specifics but so far every wardrobe and drawer mechanism needs adjusting, 11 panels need replacing and refitting, cuts will need to be redone and tidied. The biggest shame is the furniture is good quality wood and would have looked lovely if it was done correctly. Im sure theres always some remedial work needed with this type of stuff but this was just poorly done and Ive only had this resolution by complaining to the CEO. Otherwise Id still be waiting for customer services. Even though the work can hopefully be rectified and repaired its fair to say I wouldnt recommend Hammonds. Unless the remedial work gets that showroom quality finish I paid a premium for its 1 star from me. It looks like if your lucky youll get a good fit but not always!
