I cant count the times that Ive been to a hairdresser/barber-shop & been disappointed because they didnt do what I asked; but then I found Twisted Ego. If I ask for a light trim all over, thats what I get unlike other barbers that just have one style, and cut everyones hair the same way (barber in Herron Cross, who will remain nameless). I also dont get charged a consultation fee for being asked how I want it cutting (Hairdresser in Hanley, who will remain nameless). I used to hate going to a Barber Shop because of the waiting system (walking in & finding 5 or 6 people there, and calculating 20 minutes per person = a 2 hours wait ). I can book on-line with Twisted Ego; so those days are gone (thankfully), and the booking page is clear & simple. They even send me a reminder the day before my appointment. Its as if they know that Ive got the memory of a goldfish :-D ) A hairdresser that cuts your hair the way you ask, and no waiting around. What more could you ask?!

I have used this shop on and off over the past 8 years. Never the best haircut, but convenient and usually quiet so can get in and out quickly. However, it appears to be a business that no longer cares about communicating with its customers. _____________________________________________________________________ Opening times listed on google are 9am (8.30am Sat, closed Sun) with closing times ranging from 5pm to 7pm on different days. No mention of APPOINTMENT ONLY _____________________________________________________________________ Their facebook page, says opening time is 9.30am (8.30am Sat, closed Sun) with closing time at 5.30pm. A "pinned post" dating back to June 2020 explains they are back open and bookings can be made. No clearly visible mention it is now/still (November 2021) APPOINTMENT ONLY _____________________________________________________________________ Their website, opening times are different again and neither match google details or facebook page. Can make a booking, but no mention it is APPOINTMENT ONLY. _____________________________________________________________________ Opening times displayed on a sign outside shop appear to mirror their website times - No clearly visible mention it is APPOINTMENT ONLY _____________________________________________________________________ I visited at 9am today - not open, then called back at 9.20am - still not open. I rang 3 times betwen 9.25 and 9.50am - no answer and no answer machine or recorded message explaining why they were not open, or if there opening hours or policy had changed. _____________________________________________________________________ I visited again at 10am - not open, but a guy standing outside said they were running late. "Any idea what time they will be open" I asked - "no just that she's late" he said. _____________________________________________________________________ I visited again at 10.30am. Yay open at last, will finally get my haircut I though - NOPE I was told APPOINTMENT ONLY. No explanation of why, no offer of "I have an appointment available at _____time", or "let me check when we can fit you in", just a blunt "you can go our facebook page and you can get our website address and book there. Didn't even give me a business card with the website address on or write it down for me - more interested in finishing her cigarette before her "appointment" arrived. _____________________________________________________________________ Not good customer service or communication, made all the more surprising given the tough times small businesses are facing at the moment - needless to say I will go elsewhere in future
