Service was the redeeming factor here. Everyone was very accommodating and they prepared a nice dessert for my girlfriends bday. Food was another story. Flat iron steak to share burnt to a crisp when asked for rare. Using a wedge of meat thicker at one end than the other. Need to change this in method of preparation. We wont eat here again. When I mentioned it was tougher than old boots I got an apology and mention to chef. Not really what youd expect for 50. T

The Hangout at Donnington Valley is a really pretty setting. 5 stars for that plus the Cote de boeuf for two and all the desserts were excellent. 2 stars (maximum) for the falafel burger and for the limited veggie menu, only about half the options they show online. Also the staff seemed nice but nervous and untrained. (Better than well-trained and nasty I suppose!) It was all fine, but the food doesnt live up to the setting, at least for vegetarians. 5 of us shared one grazing plate, 5 main courses, 3 desserts, a drink each and 2 coffees came to 200.

Waiting staff were more interested in serving the guests who were sat outside on the day of our visit for some reason. They took around 35 mins to take our orders, then forgot to bring our drinks... Food was good on the other hand but no pics as we devoured them soon as the plates landed on our table! Manage to take a pic of the menu though.
