It's a lovely school and great teachers. A bit expensive I find, but they have a range of instruments that others don't offer: string, brass, piano, etc..

Very poor communication and emails go unanswered. Shame as some really good teachers.

I'd echo the startements of the previous review by Clare. Excellent teachers but the admin side of things is confusing. Cancelling lessons and you'll be charged even if you give ample notice. They also just invoiced me for next terms guitar hire despite it being booked in to be returned about 4 weeks before the start of the new term. And also despite the fact that the lessons have been cancelled. The cancellation charges are not in the fees section and they look like they've been recently been added to the t&cs in Sep 2021 but I wasn't notified of these updates to the t&cs. The cancellation charges are now mentioned on the registration page, but they are not explicit and are in a smaller sized font! It looks like someone just randomly updated the text on the website and did a bad job of it. I would have been more than happy to go back to Berkshire Maestros but now they just come across as a company that is trying to dishonestly grab money from you.

Teachers are excellent. However trying to terminate lessons via admin team is an appalling experience and has left a very sour taste. Having spent a significant amount of money with Maestros on lessons for my children over the years, I was charged an outrageous late termination fee of half a term's fees for stopping lessons for the following term, despite giving over 6 weeks notice. We were stopping lessons due to a house move into an area not covered by maestros and gave as much notice as we possibly could. When I enquired if we could have the half term of lessons we were being charged for, in the event we hadn't left the area by the start of term, we were told no, we could only attend lessons if we paid for the full term!
