Enterprise Car & Van Hire - Newbury

The employees at this branch are lovely, but they seem to have to constantly apologise for the abysmal Enterprise systems. We booked a car online, which didnt actually exist in the real world. The branch spent the whole day trying to find an actual car, but there were none available. We cancelled and were told we would have to wait 7-10 days for our money back. No money arrived, so I phoned the branch again They didnt have a phone number for the accounts department and could only email the request again. Another 7 - 10 days. Maybe. Dreadful systems which take your money quickly, dont provide a service and then dont return your money. Use a local car hire company instead - avoid Enterprise.

I hire cars on a regular basis but had the misfortune of using Enterprise in Newbury..the car itself was fine. I was slightly wary of all the hard sell regarding extra insurance, anyway I went ahead. I returned the car one week later all the checks were completed and the car was returned in the same condition. Three months later my credit card had a charge from them for just under 700 for a damaged windscreen, without explanation or call. I rang the haed office who could not produce any evidence regarding this outrageous scam. I will safely say that I will fight this and advise people be aware do not use this company.

We rented a car for a long weekend trip around the Jurassic Coast and found the pick up process in Hungerford to be super fast and easy, and the drop off process inn Newbury to be the same. All of the employees we've spoken to have been very kind and eager to provide a positive experience. We'll be renting a car several more times and will definitely use them again.
