Bought a replacement lamp for my Optoma HD700 in May 22. Installed June 22 after I checked with them about fitment (as no instructions received and appearance was different from original lamp i had in it). It's not my main projector so it only became apparent 188 days after purchase that there was a problem. I turned on the projector and the bulb unit bought from them blew up, showering glass and smoke out of the projector! After clearing up, I put another bulb unit in and this worked fine so it seems to me that it's an issue with their bulb. I raised an issue with them asking for a replacement and unfortunately, found the same response as other reviewers. Essentially they first sent a generic response about general projector care and then when I pointed out that it wasn't relevant to the issue, they suggested that the projector must be the problem, citing a "power fault", "faulty ballast" and "the issue is only present when having to work in high power mode" so another bulb won't replicate the issue etc. Seems to me that their unit draws too much power. They refused to help, citing their 120 day warranty. I pointed out that the law says that a warranty period cannot "trump" the right of a consumer to a repair or replacement and they've come back saying it's a "consumable" so not covered by "the law I mention". I'm annoyed because the lamp wasn't cheap and their listing suggested a life of 2000 or 3000 hours. It also describes the bulb as "long life". This bulb exploded after less than one hour of use. Their email acknowledges that "Most failures will occur within the first few hours of operation" and this unit has indeed done so, yet they won't help. I also feel it was dangerous and wish I'd seen these reviews before buying because it seems other people have found the same thing. There's no way I would buy from this company again and may as well have bought a cheaper unit off Ebay. Update: Having tried to compromise on a partial refund or exchange, they want me to obtain a report from an approved projector service centre stating that the projector is in full working order to "consider" extending the warranty. This would likely cost more than the bulb unit and they're not even confirming it would work as they would "consider" extending the warranty. I feel this is really poor service so won't use these guys again.

Fantastic customer service! I ordered a non-original housing + original lamp for my Epson projector. It arrived the next day and fit perfectly - but my projector hand another fault. After a quick email, Lamps Direct promptly provided an RMA number and refunded me - even though it wasn't their problem. I have a new projector now and will absolutely come back here when the lamp blows.

They assured me their bulbs were just as good quality as the originals, but 9 months later their bulb stopped working and they have refused to replace it. Poor!

Cheap prices for the aftermarket products compared to original lamps, and very fast delivery to the netherlands

Be careful. Wasn't a genuine bulb and lasted less than a month. They refunded me for the bulb but not before insisting that I send the bulb back to them and then refused to pay me the return postage. I wont be using them again.
