It's taken about a year until I felt able to distance myself from my experience and be balanced in my review. I was referred to what I assume was a recently qualified solicitor (she told me she would be working under close supervision). In retrospect, I should not have agreed this. After months of emails back and forth and her having written a few emails on my behalf and sending two letters by post, and paying fees of circa 3,000, I wasn't even close to Form E stage. Anyone going through a divorce will know this is a step that usually happens early in the process. I achieved nothing in terms of moving my financial settlement forward after several months and having paid the fees described above. I would encourage anyone to ask for a timeline of what will happen to avoid any unnecessary exchange of correspondence (which seems to have been a feature of my case). There were written requests for materials I already had and other queries which were redundant. I did "disengage" with the solicitor in the end due to lack of any material progress and also that I had been given information during calls, that she would contradict in writing later. In short, this professional relationship was detrimental for me, in my opinion. I hope others have better luck.

First meeting 13th July,I was sat in the office for 20mns as host was late. 2nd meeting I couldnt get into building I had to call Basingstoke as nobody available to let me into newbury building. After meeting I Followed up 12 days later as I had not heard back from Edward,I was told he was on another day off second Friday in a row. I Left message for him to call me on Monday with secretary in Basingstoke, no phone call received. . I called again Tuesday again no return phone call, called again on Wednesday left message but still no return call. Escalated to Basingstoke 10 days later and was put through to Edward. He was very apologetic as he had been dealing with a court case, but sorry came too late. I have also been charged 500 for the firms time. Im no longer using this company. When it come to childrens access why take the risk please go elsewhere !!! Very badly let down by this company.

Just excellent all round. Decisive. Drew on vast experience. Won our case and unprecedented court costs. Knew exactly what to do and when. Very reassuring. Almost relaxing as far as possible with this sort of thing. Chris Sutton outstanding.

Chris Sutton greatly helped me in my custody dispute. He is child centric, pragmatic and supportive in achieving the child's wishes. Whilst not a pleasant experience Chris and the team were supportive, understanding and made a difficult situation easier by having a plan as opposed to being reactive. I don't wish anyone to be in my situation but if they ever find themselves in that position, phone Chris.

Having had to recently use K J Smith solicitors, I would like to say what a quality and professional experience I had. Both Edward and Jack who were involved in my case provided me with a first class service with their expertise. Their help and knowledge made my situation as stress free as possible and i highly recommend them.
