Absolute shambles I ordered 2 books for a birthday present they only had received one - they said the other one wasn't published until October 2023. Total incompetence as I went to Waterstones and bought it there. I'm still fighting for my refund as the member of staff at the store wasn't able to assist me and palmed me off to Customer Services. Totally unacceptable and incompetent Company will never give them my custom again. They need to learn their trade and upskill the staff on Customer Services

The Post Office in here is a disaster. They closed the self-service at 1pm today, which is a busy time with customers on their lunch break. No explanation, just told to queue. All i wanted was two stamps for overseas. The queue did not move and i gave up as i felt i might succumb to old age. It's always the same. The person from WH Smith to whom i complained was about as interested and effective as a chocolate fire guard

This is a fairly good WHSmith, and is a decent size for a town like Newbury. It's all on one floor and has a Post Office at the back, which is theoretically a very handy layout. It's a shame that one of the members of staff insists on making rude and unnecessary comments every time I go in there, so I usually just stay away from the Post Office section and do all my mailing at the post office on St John's Roundabout instead. It's not that much further to walk, and they don't treat transgender people like me as if we're some sort of freak show, which is always appreciated. If I'm only needing to visit the WHSmith part of the store, then it's all good though, and I love the large selection of books and maps. But I won't go near the Post Office in store here because it's honestly not worth the bother.

A massive thank you to the lovely young lady who was on the door lunchtime today 13th May. Fantastic service, she was super helpful & went out of her way to help my brother who has learning difficulties. An absolute credit to the store. Thank you
