Kumon Maths & English

My son started Kumon when he was 3 years old in October 2022. I decided on Kumon as I heard fantastic reviews from other people about it and being a secondary school teacher myself, I needed support with teaching my son. My son had an initial assessment with Nisha, who has such a calming nature, my son warmed to her immediately. She assessed his level, what he is good at and guided myself on how I could support him at home. This was really helpful and I did the one week trial with her useful input. My son was engaged from the get go and has always been excited to go to Kumon. At the beginning he wasnt able to write from 1-10, but now he can read and write up to 100 in the space of a few months. It does take some parental support with the homework, but I wanted him to do this before he starts primary school in September 2023. He goes to Kumon twice a week and is supported by his 1:1 tutor called Jannath. My son said she is so nice to him, supports him and ensures he understands his work. She too has a calming nature about herself, which is exactly what my son needs in order to progress. Sometimes he is also supported by Grace, who is great with him too and takes her time to explain and engage my son with the sessions. Either Nisha or Jannath provide feedback at the end of the lesson and also some guidance of how I can support my son further at home, e.g. counting in 10s, consecutive numbers etc. I saw progress instantly within a week, however it obviously does depend on the child so bare with the process. I really recommend Kumon, but in particular the Seven Kings centre because of the support and amazing experience myself and my son have had here. My son has built so much confidence and Im hopeful that he will progress prIor to starting reception in Sept 2023. Thank you Nisha, Jannath & Grace.
