      • Singin' Autumn

        Cathy is such a lovely and welcoming host, I felt very relaxed during my stay. The location of the property is superb, looking out to the couple's statue from the window and the beachfront garden. Overall Newbiggin is a lovely village for some chill out time, dog friendly walk and fun paddlebording experience.

        Just returned from a superb 3 nights at the Captains Lodge, my room had everything I needed, and more! Cathy is a great host, she made me feel very welcome .... and she cooks the most amazing breakfast, which set me up for the day. The location is fabulous with the beautiful beach a stone's throw away. I would highly recommend the Captain's Lodge as the perfect base to visit (among many others) Alnwick, Bamburgh, Sea Houses (the beach between Sea Houses and Bamburgh is breath taking), and if you have time, a visit to Cragside will not disappoint. I sincerely hope to return one day. An easy 5/5 from me.
