Love Porters. Their meat is excellent, they stock a good. range of local, national and european cheeses, and their veggie samosas and olives (are great too). Like their freshly ground coffee too!). We're lucky to have this in Newark.

The best smoked bacon, their triple smoked is a thing of wonder many other delights including a sausage roll that has thin seemingly greasless(compared to any other I've tried) pastry. Excellent!

Having been resident in the area for a relatively short time, I was delighted to find that Newark boasts not one, but three good butchers. Over time, however, I have fallen for GH Porter as my preferred choice. Their bacon is second to none, and I havent actually been disappointed with any purchase. The wild venison burgers are terrific and as well as meat, the shop offers a good range of specialty cheeses and deli items. On top of all that is good old fashioned friendly service - a top notch business!
