Been walking this for over 30 years. We always take the kids ( once kids ourself) to feed the well fed ducks Swans and fish. You can purchase pellets for the ducks who are super friendly obviously. No fishing allowed. The only problem is as its a chalk stream there is increasing erosion along the path, so watch out for your little ones. It's not very deep but none the less

Lovely walk along the river Arle. Classic chalk stream the birdlife and abundant Brown trout. Not far off the track buy fresh cut watercress! Nice day trip, worth combining with a visit to the Watercress line.
