I opted for Solent even though they were 500 dearer than my other identical quote based on the service and aftersales assurances from them. Throughout I specced double pencil edge profile, expensive but it was a deal breaker and what we wanted. Fitting day, the worktop arrived double bevel (the most basic finish) The fitter informed me that J**** the templater had written it down wrong. Step in owner Ray , who rather than apologise proceeded to argue with me and would take no ownership of the mistake. Said I should have checked, when clearly they hadn't. I had plumbers and electricians on site to carry out work as soon as install was complete so a revisit would have had financial implications. All quotes at all stages stated double pencil edge in BOLD!!! They highlighted in bold (not me) to underline what I would be paying for. Ray's unbending abrupt nature when his companies mistake/oversight was brought to light left me in a position where I had no choice but to accept the lesser specification product. No compensation or remedy was offered. At the end of the day they are only middlemen who take a profit for arrangements. In the event that your install goes awry dont expect any resolution if it is likely to cost them money, clearly an element of the profit isn't set aside to cover mishaps. I can not recommend, Do some homework and go to a company that is not just a middleman. ADDENDUM - Both under mounted sinks became detached within 4 months. We got a plumber out to remedy. His findings , cheap nasty silicone used and not enough of it, Appalling! Service: Kitchen countertop replacement
