I made a discovery at the railway station yesterday that I had to share. A truly wonderful magazine of travel writing, beautifully illustrated and containing an excellent a range of feature articles. Further news updates are given in the closing pages of the magazine, too. Timeless Travels are based near Salisbury so I must have travelled past them many times on my way from the Westcountry to London and Paris. I will be encouraging my travel writing students to read this publication, especially since it is stocked at the newsagents on Plymouth Station. In the current issue, I have just read has an article on Fawcett, an excellent, well-researched piece by Duncan J. D. Smith which also grips the reader right to the end. We run a travel writing practicum day in nearby Torquay and so I can now add Fawcett to my list of local heroes. Local Guides on Google will love this.

I found this magazine at Manchester Airport whilst going on holiday. I spent the next week reading it from cover to cover. It is a brilliant magazine, covering three of my favourite topics; travel, archaeology and art. The articles cover a wide variety of subjects, are well written, interesting and cover places that the average person has a chance to visit for themselves. In addition, the photography is wonderful. I highly recommend it.
