Dog-friendliness: There is an area next to the car park. When your dog can have time off lead. I use the area first in hope my dog will go to the toilet, before walking around the reserve. There is a bin at the car park only, to place used poo bags. Dogs are allowed around the reserve as long as they are kept on a short lead. Picnic area: Small picnic area comprising of 2 picnic benches. These are at the start of the trails.

We had a pleasant walk on a cold winter's day at this very large reserve. Although the landscape isn't very varied it's still nice to walk around, with quite a few different birds making an appearance. Bear in mind it's very flat so the wind whips across it even when it doesn't seem particularly windy elsewhere. I massively underdressed and had to walk quickly to avoid freezing! There are no facilities beyond the carpark, either, so no chance of a hot drink unless you being it with you. As someone else mentioned, the main entrance is now PE28 3PS ... but even then I missed it and had to turn back, so keep your eyes open!
