Semer's village church is easily missed, being sited at the bottom of the steep hill leading towards Hadleigh. Had the church been built atop the hill, it would have stood out as much as the church at nearby Kersey. All Saints is instead very secluded, its green, tranquil churchyard entirely surrounded by trees. Semer church is quite small, built in stone with a short tower & ornate windows...

All Saints, Semer like many other churches was mentioned in the Doomsday book but this one was built in the C14 from flint & stone. Major work carried out in 1899 added the porch and chancel screen. The tower contains 3 bells dates 1618, 1621 and 1440, the fomer 2 being cast at Bury St Edmunds. The church is locked but keys can be obtained locally.

Well it's a rather wonderful location consisting of the lovely little church alongside a winding river(Brett). A tranquil ambience crys out for an afternoon summer picnic and simply allow time to pass .Daydreaming springs to mind whilst clutching hot tea from a flask..Blissful.
