I called Wessex restoration to replace my front and back doors, as well as repair a sash window - they said the doors didn't need repaired, just re-hung and draught proofed. Unfortunately, I called them back out because they made the doors worse than they were. The front door doesn't sit in its frame properly anymore (I have no idea what that have done) and the back door was initially worse than it originally was - in fairness they "fixed" this, after I called them back, but I've discovered they've used sandpaper as some sort of packing agent in the door hinges - I only noticed this when I moved a plant, and saw some sand paper sticking out. Have emailed in, and was asked to send pictures. I did. Total radio silence. I haven't the energy to even bother asking them out for a 3rd time to fix this job. The only thing they managed to do to an OK standard was to enable a sash window to open again - oh, and very quick to send final invoices. I like to support local as best I can, but its clear these guys are only interested in huge jobs at the local uni's and Mansions - I do wonder what the standard of work would be there. Personally, I'd avoid like the plague.

1st class service and quality of work. We were asked to restore rather than replace 7 large sash windows on a grade II listed chapel in South Wales. Mark demonstrated great understanding on the first site visit that gave great confidence, provided a reasonable price for the work and now its complete I again have 7 working sash windows and a happy conservation officer.

The team at Wessex refurbished timber windows for a rental property of mine in Weston-super-Mare. Simon was very helpful in coordinating an initial visit working around the tenant and then retuning to do the work. I was very pleased with the service and the honest feedback I received.
