Heat Geek have shaken up the heating industry! They're educating engineers and customers. The traditional heating industry associations are just so far behind, having lacked foresight, failing to engage effectively for customers and engineers.

Well they talk the talk but unfortunately don't walk to my front door. Contacted the four nearest heat geeks to service and help optimise my heat pump settings. Only one bothered to respond and just wanted to book in an expensive service. When I mentioned optimising settings, he said "that should have been done by the installer". So on the one hand the mantra is "get the system optomised" but they just want to cherry pick the easiest/most profitable jobs. Very disappointed.

Trying out their online video suggestion of leaving one's heating on 24/7 in every room of my 15th/16th century farmhouse. 6 weeks later my gas usage is down around 5/10% with every room warm and dry - no freezing rooms or hallways, no condensation or damp patches anywhere (was big issue) - fantastic. Have 2 Vaillant boilers running at 53c flow temp into rooms set to 20-21c with return flow to boiler around 40c. Seems to be working spot on. Excellent advice.
