The Nelson Tavern

This is our local pub we pop in fairly frequently, the roast is outstanding, best in the area by far. Last Saturday we ate at a Thai inspired theme night, the food was delicious and portion sizes were super generous. Excellent value 25pp for 3 courses. Pub managed a theme night, 50th party, regulars and a band -atmosphere was great and owner Joe and chef Fraser delivering their excellent food. Bar staff also super friendly. Definitely give the Nelson a try its really a great local pub.

We don't really go to the Nelson as its quite far from us, but we do occasionally pop in if we're in the area. When my partner saw the Thai night,she couldn't resist. We were so impressed. Every course was just phenomenal. I've just seen another review on here regarding the food. I'm not sure if they were eating at the same place we were because we loved every part. We've spent a lot of time in Thailand and the flavours were spot on for the Massaman and Pad Thai. Authentic, beautifully prepared food. Service was brilliant given that there was a large birthday party in attendance.
