Damp Proof 1 Ltd

Got a 60 damp survey from them - surveyor didnt really listed to anything I had to say, clearly wasnt keen on the job and then proposed such a bonkers quote for remediation that it seemed like they wanted to deliberately discourage me from using them to do the job, but well keep your money for the survey. Then never returned my calls when I wanted to query it. Avoid.

I cannot comment on the actual work of this company, but can confirm they are overpriced and very unresponsive and slow. The estate agent arranged for Damp Proof 1 to do a survey and offer a quotation. After waiting several week and chasing several times, we received the survey and quote. The survey was very thorough - but a joke. It was for over 20k work and they were going to install materials that were not right for such an old house. I then received three other opinions / quotes which were reasonable and honest. I sent the other surveyors the survey/quote from Damp Proof 1 Ltd and they just laughed. Thought it was ridiculous and again they were going to use materials which were far too heavy for the house. I would highly recommend you do not use this company.
