We went into grand northern recording studio in June. From the first phone call with Alex right up to meeting, he was all over our service in a way we have never known. We have been in and out of studios for 20 years but this was different. We felt we were in the company for somebody who cared about our songs as much as us. Alex and his team treated us like professionals whilst being able to jump onto our level of banter at the same time. Our family and friends have been blown away by the significant upgrade in quality that they have produced and we feel like we have made musical friends for life. I would urge anybody who wants their art to be the number one priority on a studios list to come and make history with Alex. Sam The_Public

I recently had a song recorded and produced by Alex Johnson at the Grand Northern Recording Studio. I am strictly a songwriter, with very limited skills as an instrumentalist and as a vocalist. I sent Alex a guitar/vocal mp3 of me performing the song, and we then had an email correspondence in which we exchanged ideas on ways to approach the song. Alex began working on the song within a few days after we decided on an approach, and sent me the first mix in about 2 weeks. The performance and production were both extraordinary. I suggested a few minor changes these were done within 2 days, along with the final mix. I expect that I am going to have a long musical relationship with Alex

Alexander Johnston of CMI Music Group is my co-writer and co-publisher on a childrens song titled Whos Taking Randolph? The tune is an introduction of eleven animal characters, an ensemble collectively known as Oh Micheaux . As an early-childhood educator, I reached out to Alex after spending a month working with special-education students at an early-childhood public charter school located in Washington, DC. Though Alex and I were in contact via email for months across the Atlantic Ocean, the product of our collaboration sounds as if we were in the same studio side by side. I initially provided Alex with a lyric sheet and background on a snake that eats cake (Randolph) and ten additional quirky critters including a yellow-bellied turtle (Ghanu) and Beeler, a blue honey bee. Alex with his brilliant mind, crafted a gorgeous piano-based melody that incorporated unique instrument motifs for each animal. When a listener hears the vocal and instrumental tracks, he/she will be delighted by child-centered rhythmic storytelling and imaginative sound effects including Felipe (the elephant) trumpeting his horn/trunk and Maggie Sue (the horse) galloping. When I penned the lyric, I thought it was cute and clever but with Alexs melodic and engineering skills, the characters now visually and harmonically leap off the page and tickle my ears with gleeful delight. I would encourage any lyricist out there who, like me, was born lacking the gift of melody, to reach out to Alex and CMI Music Group for melody writes and arrangements. You will most assuredly be astounded by the outcome. I know that I am. Love. Carter Jones
