        This Hostel is in a good location in Moretonhampstead, short walk to pubs and cafs and the swimming pool. We didn't meet the host ; Ali , but the place is run on an informal basis and a relaxed vibe prevails. It is clean and comfortable, you may need earplugs if anyone else snores ! Bunk beds can squeak a bit and curtains offer some privacy. Good value rustic hostel.

        After a very long slog of a bike ride I arrived at Mortenhampstead and The Sparrowhawk hostel. I was very impressed by the character and charm of the place, its close proximity to shops and pubs, and the very friendly owner Ali. I cannot recomend this place enough. Would be my first choice if I ever get the chance to get back to the area

        I only stayed two nights but wished I had stayed longer. Everything was cozy and lovely and just a half a beat off the normal. Ali, my amazing hostess went far over my expectations to make me feel welcomed and appreciated. Moretonhampsted was such a delightful little village and the Sparrowhawk Backpackers Hostel was a great spot to base my Dartmoor leg of my journey. Next year I stay 4 nights!
