Compost. 24 bags of the stuff. I was finding lots of bits of glass, tin and plastic in Durston Compost. My plants went into shock on being repotted into this compost. They went yellow and some died. I believe the compost to be toxic. My plants, including vegetables haven't recovered. I now have to throw my veg away. I emailed Mr. Durston and recieved only excuses and more worryingly an admission that the compost contains general household waste and that I should use thick gloves when handling it! I pointed out to him that if the packaging contained a warning that there could be general waste in it of glass, plastics and tin no one would buy it. Neither is there a warning about using THICK gloves. Why would I want to put waste plastic products into the environment when we are supposed to be cleaning it up! And the amount of sharp glass and tin was far beyond a reasonable amount. I all my days of gardening I have never had to be worried about cutting my hands on sharp glass and tin. Mr. Durston's reply to me was condescending and he is acting totally irresponsibly. I have sent the evidence and Mr. Durston's reply to the retailer so that are aware too. I am flabbergasted that Durston is getting away with this.

HGV Advice. Its an experience driving an arctic to Durston Garden Products!!!! Its advisable to access the site along Whitley Lane from Walton, if you come in from the other direction theres a very high probability you will meet another truck leaving the site! And there is no room to pass each other! Once your on site report to one of the FLTs and they will direct you to where you need to be! There is another loading yard just a little further down the road! Its very exposed and shutting your curtains can be problematic when its windy! Overall a good site to load out of, its just the access which lets it down! Good luck!!!
