Monk Soham House is about as good as it can get in B&B terms. It is a real home (the family occupy one side), not too large, partly 16th century, retaining lots of character, surrounded by a mixture of gardens, lawns and old farm buildings. There are two or maybe three rooms available in the house I think - (there is a sweet modern cottage in the grounds) - but they are large and ours had a big bathroom with free standing bath. There is a beautiful 16th century living room for guests, with an open fire which can be lit at will. We stayed out of season and had this room to ourselves, like a suite, but it would be brilliant for a group of friends to hire the whole place. The lady of the house is so friendly and accomodating, and serves a super cooked breakfast in the conservatory looking out over the gardens (even the toast can be rosemary bread, and the eggs are from the hens which roam free outside). The only problem you'll have is to remember to duck under some of those Tudor beams!
