My wife and I visited The Crown for a late lunch on 1st May. We were able to book a table at short notice and we're pleasantly surprised by the updates to the premises since our last visit some two years ago. Really nice ambience and great staff. My wife had salmon and I went for a chicken burger with fries. Both meals were delicious, as was the coffee. We eat out most days, and The Crown is well and truly back on our list of favourite eateries. Super place to dine.

Given the lovely atmosphere and friendliness of the staff I can understand the good reviews but I think theyre largely from meat-eaters. Unless Greek salad is your dish of choice, dont be a vegetarian here; there is literally nothing else available on the main menu.

Ripped off. Bad choice of lagers and Overcharged 13.90 for Stella, Coors and J2O. Feeling kind by giving 2 stars. Went elsewhere that won't use rising costs as an excuse and got two Estrella's and a wine for 5p more. Wouldn't want to eat in here. One of the owners singing and shouting, bad atmosphere.

Starters - garlic mushrooms; calamari. Both pretty damn good! Mains - filet steak; crown burger. Both amazing as well. The steak was so good, don't bother with the sauce. The steak holds its own. I've eaten a lot of steaks in places where the prices are far more extravagant than the Crown, but I can say it is hands down in my top 3 steaks. Perfectly seasoned and cooked (rare). Sides and salad were also exceptional considering they are not the main event. It's not Michelin star (they can have a Thomas star instead!), but you can't go wrong here for excellent food in a really good environment. It is a bit more expensive compared to other places, but I think it was worth it for the experience and quality, which is a cut above other places.
