Waited 30 mins for the service after I received the meal card and then was told the kitchen is closed

Seems like a nice place but 30 minutes we were handed in the lunch menus, the waitress informed us they dont serve lunches anymore

Lovely food and a nice place but getting a bit expensive. This was an 18 plate of fish and chips. Tasted lovely but cant believe I got a half portion for that money. Maybe its me but Im sure there is better value elsewhere (eg Mermaid in Burford) for this plate. From the reply below apparently there is nowhere else locally that has fresh fish which apparently is the reason the fish and chips are so expensive for the portion size. I would imagine other pubs would challenge this statement. We have been going here for years (even before it was named as it is now). Its always been a bit pricey but value used to be better in my opinion
