We as a family with dogs had a lovely time in Minehead. With health conditions Minehead is flat so suitable for all people, with some great places to eat. The pub in the harbour is a must, great food and very nice staff with a view of the harbour while you have a drink or meal. The only downside of Minehead is that dogs are not allowed on the beach, the only beach for dogs is at the far side of Butlins with the pathway at the side of the golf course. When you do get to the beach it's best to arrive about an hour after high tide to enjoy the wet cool sand with the dogs.

Rooms: Rooms were ok. Big padlock on the wardrobe door in the main bedroom. Bed not the most comfortable as it had a stiff sheet on it and it wasn't soft to the skin and irritated my skin. Having Eczema it wasn't always pleasurable. The second bedroom had what was called a verandah in the accommodation description. It is not a verandah but a balcony so there was not as much room as a verandah would lead you to believe. The second bedroom lacked a wardrobe. There were just hooks on the wall to put hangers on. Nearby activities: The Ship Aground is a short walk away and is a great pub. Good beer and very helpful, friendly staff. If you need anything more you have to go into Minehead itself. Safety: There is a decent step to get into the apartment and it could be an issue for people with mobility issues. Walkability: Once you are down the step to the apartment you have a flat walk to wherever you are going. The beach is all pebbles, but very nice. Wi-fi: WiFi worked well. Food & drinks: Fantastic Fish and chips and a Chinese takeaway on the Alcombe Road Minehead. Also Tandoori Restaurant that do takeaway. They are all 10/10 for quality and price. Noteworthy details: Arrived on 08/07/22. When we have visited self catering stays, we have had some milk in the fridge ready for our use on arrival. But we were left with tubes of out of date milk (03/07/23) and a pack of 3 digestive biscuits (04/06/22) There were just basic essentials provided. We had to buy our own toilet paper, kitchen paper, salt and vinegar, black bags, washing tabs for clothes. Scourer for washing up. Which we felt that how much we had paid for the property was disgusting. It was understandable when COVID was about, but not now. The toilet is terribly low for tall people to get up and down from and the seat is loose and doesn't fit the pan. We were left with no bleach or disinfectant to keep the toilet fresh for the 7 days we were there. No sign of any sanitising gel or surface wipes. Even though you are provided with a parking permit, there are no allocated parking spaces outside the apartment and its first come first served, which was a pain on 2 occasions as there were big motorhomes taking up 2 parking spaces each. One big positive was the shower. Given 3 stars for view as you get beautiful sunsets over The Bristol Channel. Would we return? Definitely not
