Minehead Information Centre

Well worth a visit before you start exploring the area. It has a wealth of maps, booklets & information on Minehead and the surrounding areas. It also sells postcards and products made by local artists - great for gifts. Dog friendly. Parking is in a public car park a minute's walk away. The local Museum also adjoins the building and is well worth a visit.

Well located opposite the train station on the front. Helpful staff. Locally made souvenurs. Shares space with Minehead museum (free and also packed with information)

Minehead Information Centre is a small place run by a dedicated group of volunteers who have tons of information and guidance for visitors and indeed residents. From bus timetables to a quick lesson in local history and the best drinking and eating spots. Hugely valuable. If the resort is to continue to thrive or indeed survive, the MPs and the Somerset and the West Somerset and Taunton Councils need to invest properly in such local infrastructure projects. Sadly, there is no such sign of awareness or commitment - just old style Tory politics where people are taxed heavily and given little in return.
