Golden House

Visited here as really fancied a sit-in Chinese meal and there's not many local in the area. It wasn't terrible but then it wasn't great either, found the food to be tasty but lacking in portion size. Quite a bit more expensive than other Chinese restaurants I've visited so the smaller portion size compounded the negative experience. Rice and chow mein was lovely, lemon chicken was good... the tiny portion of crispy shredded beef was poor with little to no meat inside, was more like crispy shredded batter... certainly not worth 10.50 Staff were great, nice friendly welcome and attentive, restaurant and service was good also. I probably would eat here again, just expected a bit better value for money.

We had booked for a large party with a set menu. I had tofu with green peppers in a black bean sauce and it was really tasty. The tofu was great and had picked up the taste of the sauce. Really enjoyed the meal I had. Vegetarian options: I had tofu in my black bean sauce and it was great.
