The Old Lodge

This was my first time at the lodge. It is basically an old large house in the middle of some open ground that now contains a golf course. The rooms I saw were well decorated but unimaginatively furnished. Parking at busy times is not great and if it's been raining wear good shoes as it can be muddy. I'd like to go back to see if it deserves a higher rating.

Absolutely amazing both meals were, very tasty, extremely filling and very hot, arrived very quickly although it wasnt busy (I dont think), service was brilliant too. Both meals came with salad and olives which was a lovely addition. Cannot fault at all. If Im ever passing here again Id definetly pop in, nice selection of local ales too. 5**** from us! We also stayed in room 3 for 2 nights, rooms not big but they are ample, they are extremely clean and have everything you need, a really good nights sleep and the shower really good too, thoroughly enjoyed the 2 nights, the staff are amazing and the free breakfast also absolutely delicious and extremely filling, well definetly be back!

Popped in Sunday 16th April 2023 for food and drink. Absolute shambles of a place. After waiting 40 minutes just for a drink that didn't arrive, we never got the chance to order food. Informed member of staff drinking coffee behind the bar we were leaving and she said Absolutely nothing, the place wasn't busy. What a let down and what a way to run a business.
